Wow, this was a delightful read, thank you so much for your insights and wisdom. I have never heard it from this perspective before and I deeply appreciate it.
I have always felt a call towards God/Great Spirit. Growing up I went to a Catholic school so resented "religion" and how it was taught then I discovered "spirituality" yet something just felt missing for me. The teachings were always about ascending or being with God and completely dismissed this incredible physical experience we are currently having.
For me now, Im currently at a place in my journey where I believe one of the Holiest things you can do is live life, to truly and deeply feel all of life/this journey and know that God/Great Spirit is also walking with you (to put it very simply) and that we have eternity to be with God head so let's enjoy and explore this journey of the "physical" while we can 💖
Thanks for sharing your journey. I deeply identify with the experience that spirituality falls short when it's "out there," and the peace with discovering that it was right here all along. Hey, learning this is also part of the process and voyage of life.
Ultimately, genuine holiness is an extremely delicate affair, which is why Jewish tradition places so many boundaries and restrictions on everything pertaining to the Temple (which literally translates as the House of Holiness). Without holiness's message from beyond and above, life here is meaningless and tasteless. But no less critical is for holiness not to self-destruct by creating a fantasy that God wants us to be anything different than our most physical, visceral selves.
What's the simplest way to ensure our spiritual journey is grounded? To get our feet on the ground and walk!
Indeed, every personality trait is both a virtue and vice. Ambition keeps me moving - but it overextends its usefulness when it wants to get "there" already.
Good question about how to know what's my journey. In my experience that's where my mind fails me, because I can't isolate "the single truth" from the impossibly complex possibilities of life. My role is just to "show up for work," choosing to dwell in the process and not escape to fantasies of having already arrived. I can get guidance from mentors, spiritual traditions, and if I'm a prophet (which I'm not), from God.
I also really like what Midnight replied below that everything is part of the journey - even the things that turn out not to be what I thought I needed (oh how I need to hear that!). Also that our hearts can guide us to our path through non-intellectual intuitions - what feels right for me, what pulls me.
In a nutshell, I've never gotten far by figuring out what to do and forcing it to happen. Letting the course take its shape goes much better.
For me personally, I believe that every bit of it is apart of your journey/your path. You can never be off of your path or journey because your journey is your life. There are things in life that may not feel apart of our journey but ultimately they are leading us more and more in alignment with our true path/our true selves. Discerning what feels good to us can help us to let go of things that haven't "worked" for us in the past. Learning how to live from your heart, to listen to your heart will help you to live a more aligned life. It is all practice, this journey is all practice, we get better and better and better at it but ultimately we will never arrive because life is forever expanding and that is the fun of it all (it takes a lot of practice to realise the fun in it all 😋). Be gentle with yourself and trust in your own journey.

Almost convinced me to go for a walk. Sneaky! Seriously though, very thoughtful and relevant post.
Thanks for stopping by, Ehud. If one health-seeker goes for a walk, it was all worth it.
Thanks for the restack and comment, Sophia!
