Planting with Tears, Reaping with Joy
On Rabbi Rami Goldberg's prayer call.
Dear Healthy Jew,
My good friend Rabbi Rami Goldberg hosts a monthly prayer group where people of all faiths are invited to learn and pray for peace and prosperity for the Jewish nation in Israel.
Last week I had the privilege of joining him to share how planting with tears during our painful days points us toward reaping with joy, hopefully soon.
To experience planting with tears, we practiced together purposeful sighing, as I shared with you here several weeks ago based on the Torah’s description of the first stirrings of the Exodus:
As for reaping with joy, we followed the Exodus story to God’s first message to Pharaoh through Moses: “Israel is my first-born son.” As I’ve written many times in these pages, most recently last week, the soul of that son is the Nation of Israel, and its body is the Land of Israel.
I know you might have heard this from me a million times, but just in case you didn’t, this idea is the central theme of my book, Land of Health: Israel’s War for Wellness.
Thank you for reading Healthy Jew.
